What to Expect from Brave Soles in 2019

When I launched Brave Soles, I knew I wanted simple, beautiful styles that truly make a difference for our earth and those we share it with.

At the time, however,  I wasn't sure what terms to use.

Should we call it sustainable fashion? Eco-friendly? Ethical?

It was not easy to nail it down. All of them are true and yet none of those terms completely encapsulate what we are and how we are evolving.

To be clear, Brave Soles strives to be all of those terms at all times. However,  those terms can feel intimidating. They are true and they describe us, but they don’t help us feel the full reason behind why we believe so much in what we are creating.

So, instead, we thought about our community and supporters and listened to you.

You told us you wanted to make better shopping decisions but didn’t necessarily know where to start. You were tired of feeling guilty for owning something that you loved. You want to make good choices, but it can be costly, exhausting and feel like you are compromising beauty or style.

What we heard and began to realize is that what we are creating with our customers and supporters is conscious fashion -  and it definitely sounded like something we could do for you.

Because it sounded just like Brave Soles.

Brands that care about what they are creating show that in how they track their impact on what matters. They pay attention to the details so that their customers can have peace of mind. Those details include being transparent about how we treat the earth, our employees and suppliers, and our customers.

You deserve peace of mind. So much of life can seem beyond our control and it can be difficult to know what the next step is - or if there even is a next step.

It can be hard when fast fashion is all around us and we don’t know how to break out of the cycle.

But small changes can add up to big steps forward! We can all make quarter turns in our mindsets and ways of thinking.

It’s not only in our mindsets that small changes have made an impact. The world is starting to catch on as to the power of our choices. In a recent article, Fast Company showed readers how small changes made by individual shoppers are adding up.

Brave Soles is a conscious fashion brand. We don’t think you should have to do all the hard work to find beauty and good in fashion; we should be able to prove it to you right from the start.
